How accurate is the identification?
Accuracy depends on the coin and the photograph. Rather than hide that, the app reports a confidence score on every result and names what is limiting it — lighting, wear, or thin catalogue data for that type.
Where do the values come from?
Estimates combine catalogue pricing with recent comparable sales, adjusted for the estimated condition. They are estimates, not appraisals, and the app shows a range rather than a single figure.
What happens to my photos?
Photos are used to identify the coin and to build your own collection records. They are not sold, and you can delete any scan or collection at any time.
Do I need an account?
No. Scanning and saving coins work straight away, with no sign-up. Without an account, your collection lives only on this device, and deleting the app removes it. Premium’s cloud backup and sync need a sign-in; deleting that account removes the backed-up copy.
Which coins are covered?
World coins, with the deepest coverage on modern US, UK, Canadian and euro-area issues. Ancients and heavily worn pieces usually land at limited confidence.
What does Premium add?
Unlimited scans, live sold-listing prices with grade-refined estimates (G to MS70), portfolio value tracking, and cloud backup and sync. Your first 3 confident identifications are free, with full catalogue details and a value range. Coins you’ve saved stay in your collection whether or not you subscribe.
Why do only confident scans count?
If CerinCoin comes back at Limited or Low confidence, that scan is free — it didn’t give you a real answer, so it shouldn’t cost you one. Only High and Good results count toward your 3 free identifications.
How does the free trial work?
Premium starts with a 7-day free trial. You won’t be charged until the trial ends, and you can cancel any time before then in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings. After the trial, Premium renews at the plan you chose unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.

It is not a grading service or an appraisal, and estimates should not be relied on for insurance, sale or purchase decisions.
